Fleet Manager - Vilas & Son

We currently have an opening for an experienced and professional Fleet Manager.  The Fleet Manager will be based out of our corporate office and the ability to travel to all our branch locations is required.

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversees the staffing, job performance, budgeting, approval of purchases and general operations of 4 shops.
• Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and safe working condition of all vehicles and equipment to include but not limited to establishing preventative maintenance schedules, and replacement intervals
• Works with each shop to set achievable goals, promote positive morale, increase efficiency and production.
• Ensure that policies, procedures and safety requirements are implemented and adhered to.
• Update inventory, and record keeping of all company vehicles and equipment.
• Research, demonstrate and negotiate purchases of any new equipment or vehicle upgrades
• Continually monitor all Department of Transportation policies and rules to ensure training and compliance.

Requirements:

• A candidate should have a basic knowledge of automotive/equipment mechanics.
• A good driving record is required.
• Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis.
• Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Current experience as a  Fleet Manager in charge of a large fleet that includes a wide variety of light trucks, heavy trucks, small and heavy equipment.
• A minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience.
