Victoria Gitman ‘96 |
- Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
- Attended Yale University’s Norfolk Summer School of Art on a fellowship.
- Graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College and FIU with a BFA in Painting and a BA n Humanities, with minor in Art History.
- Received a 2002 FIU Alumni Torch Award as a distinguished alumna and served on the Honors College Dean’s Community Advisory Board.
- Solo exhibitions of her work have been displayed at the following galleries: David Nolan Gallery, New York; Daniel Weinberg Gallery, Los Angeles; The Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach Florida; The Fischbach Gallery, New York; and Praxis International Art, Mexico City, among others.
- Group exhibitions of her worked have included Transactions, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (traveling from 2006 through 2008 to Memorial Art Gallery, University of Rochester, New York; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, North Carolina); Block Party, Daniel Weinberg Gallery, Los Angeles; and On Paper, Daniel Weinberg Gallery, Los Angeles (2005), among others.
- Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, (August 1st, 2003); The Miami Herald (January 19, 2003; September 16-17, 2000); ArtNews (December 2002); Art Nexus (February 2001); The St. Petersburg Times (May 26, 2000); and The Palm Beach Post (April 14, 2000), among others.
