ANNUAL CONVOCATION STUDENT CONTEST

Submission Deadline: September 25, 2006

The time has come once again to enter The Annual Honors College Convocation contest. The Annual Honors College Convocation contest is a showcase of students and faculty projects that exemplify excellence. All Honors College students are encouraged to submit work produced within or outside the College.

Entries may include but need not be limited to creative writing (poetry, creative prose, short stories, personal/journalistic essay etc), art (2-D/3-D, paintings, sculptures, photography, drawings etc), audio-visual (videography, multimedia/photoshop, website design etc), research work (scientific/research papers, posters etc) and musical /performance composition.

  • All entries should be submitted to Sachin Gursahani no later that 5 p.m. on September 25, 2006.
  • Entries are limited to three per category however; the entrant can participate in any number of categories.
  • The Annual Convocation Student Application form can be downloaded from The Honors College website: http://www.fiu.edu/~honors/convocation.
  • Written work must be submitted electronically to honors@fiu.edu, with the entry form attached.
  • Entrants submitting large artwork, experimental apparatus, design models and other unwieldy entries will be responsible for transporting such works to the Graham Center Ballroom and back on Convocation Day to ensure their safety and proper setup.
  • All entries must be picked up from Graham Center ballrooms immediately after the Convocation. The Honors College will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or discarded items after the convocation.
  • All entrants will be required to attend Convocation.
