Application for Admission

To be eligible for admission to The Honors College, students must:

1) Be admitted to Florida International University- FIU Application Webpage
(This application and a $30 application fee must be sent to FIU, Office of Admissions, P.O. Box 659003, Miami, FL 33265-9003)

2) Print out and complete the online Honors College application (Acrobat pdf format)
(This application must be sent to The Honors College, University Park DM 233, Miami, FL 33199)

• If you are a current FIU student or incoming freshman, please submit an essay of approximately 500 words that discusses a piece of literature (fiction or non-fiction), fine art, film, or music that has influenced you the most, and why. Feel free to use previous compositions. Please include The Honors College application along with this essay.
  
  
• If you are a transfer student, please include two recommendation letters and an official transcript from your previous institution along with the essay and Honors College application.

3) Meet the current Honors College minimum admission criteria:

Freshman: High school GPA of 3.5 (weighted) and commensurate test scores

Current FIU student or Transfer student: Minimum college GPA of 3.3

(Applications are evaluated by an admissions committee.)
