The Honors College is inviting applications for the Barbara Bader Scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year. Scholarships of $1,000.00 will be awarded to highly motivated students involved in community leadership and service who have expressed financial need.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Entering or current Honors College student in good standing (minimum 3.3 GPA);
2. Demonstration of financial need;
3. Evidence of motivation, character, and potential through community service; demonstration of an effort to integrate university learning with civic engagement;
4. Scholarships open to out-of-state students.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Write a full one-page essay (12 point font and double spaced) detailing your involvement in the Honors College or FIU student activities and community service. Please explain why you believe you should be selected as the recipient of the scholarship. Include a copy of your resume.
