The Honors College is inviting applications for the Harvey L. Young Family Foundation Scholarship. The scholarships will be in the amount of $2000.00 for the 2009-2010 academic year and will be renewed each year provided that the recipients remain full‑time Honors College students in good standing, make satisfactory progress towards a bachelor's degree, maintain a 3.3 cumulative GPA at FIU, and that funds are available in the Family Foundation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Entering or current Honors College student in good standing (minimum 3.3 GPA);
2. Demonstrated financial need in a written statement;
3. Florida residency;
4. Outstanding academic performance;
5. Evidence of motivation, character, and potential.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Write a three-page essay stating your academic and professional goals, including your intended field of study, and explain why you believe you should be selected as the recipient of the scholarship.
   
   
2. Include a copy of your resume and a copy of your most recent transcripts.
