MIAMI (August 16, 2007) - The Florida Legislature has passed a resolution commemorating the tenth anniversary of the FIU Honors College. State Representative Anitere Flores presented the proclamation to Honors College Dean Lesley A. Northup at a ceremony held earlier today. “I am pleased the State Legislature has recognized the achievements of the Honors College in its first decade,” said Northup. “It is all the more meaningful to have the award presented to us by one of our own.” Representative Flores is an Honors College alumna and member of the Honors College Community Advisory Board. “The College helped me learn in an intellectually challenging environment that also emphasized leadership and service to community,” Flores said. “It made a key contribution to my life and career.”
