SCHOLARSHIPS
Transfer Student Scholarships

Because of their outstanding academic performance and service record, many transfer students from Florida community colleges qualify for financial support under one of several transfer scholarship programs. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of transfer GPA (special attention is paid to prior performance in honors courses), extra-curricular activities, and letters of recommendation. To be considered for these awards, students must submit the following documents:

  • a completed application for membership in the Honors College
  • two letters of recommendation from previous instructors
  • an application for FIU admission to the University's Office of Admissions

Students who submit these documents will be considered for applicable awards. All scholarship recipients must participate in the Honors College and maintain enrollment in 15 credits per term with a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.3. Students who apply by February 15 will be given priority consideration. Initial awards will be made on March 1.
