Applying

Requirements

Students must apply to FIU but do not need to have been accepted before applying to the Honors College. However, transcripts and test scores with the below minimum requirements must be in the system for the application to appear.

To apply to the Honors College at FIU, please complete an online application via my.fiu.edu with all appropriate documents.

  • Incoming Freshmen

Admission to the Honors College is very selective with Honors students representing the top 6% of FIU’s undergraduate students. The 2023 freshman cohort had an average 4.4 weighted GPA, 1329 SAT, and 29 ACT.

High-achieving incoming freshmen interested in applying should visit my.fiu.edu for the Honors application. Applying does not guarantee admission.

Although the final deadline to apply is May 1st, we encourage you to submit your Honors application as early as possible to make sure you are considered for the limited number of seats available.

Once admitted, you will need to submit your Honors Confirmation Form to reserve your space. Those who do so by April 24th and have paid their enrollment deposit will have the opportunity on a first-come, first-served basis to select the earliest Advising & Registration Day.
