· Florida International University’s Environmental Studies Department offers FIVE scholarships at $24,000 per student over four years of college to qualified students to pursue a BA or BS in Environmental Studies with a focus on Agroecology.  The scholarship will begin in the Fall 2007.

· Eligibility: minority students and students of multi-cultural background are preferred; high school cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.7 and a combined SAT score of 1800 (under the new system).

· Interested high school seniors may send their application packet to Dr. Krish (Jay) Jayachandran with the following documents:

• A cover letter
• A 500 word statement of intent explaining why you are interested in this scholarship (make sure to include any prior experience in food and agricultue science)
• Two letters of recommendation
• A copy of your high school transrcipt
