Course Description
Law, Health, & Tech focuses on foundational and special topics at the intersection of three distinct, but interrelated, fields. The course is designed to facilitate high achieving FIU Honors College students with an interest in Law (including Pre-Law), Health (all areas of Health Care, Public Health, and Health Professions), and/or Technology (including Engineering or STEM/STEAM Students) in understanding basic concepts at the core of each of these areas that intersect and impact daily life and business in the United States of America and the world.
This course is focused on discussions amongst students. Students will be enabled and encouraged to bring their prior knowledge, experiences, and newly-acquired knowledge to each discussion. Students will rotate on reporting the outcome of small group discussions. This course enables and encourages students to practice their public speaking skills, their short-form writing skills, and their presentation skills (all of which are transferable skills that are useful in each student's chosen career path).
