Course Description
This course examines how artificial intelligence can support the understanding and exploration of complex global challenges, or “wicked problems,” such as food insecurity, affordable housing amid climate change, and social disconnection. Students will use AI tools to analyze data and information, reveal patterns, and evaluate potential approaches to these evolving issues. Emphasizing systems thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration, the course encourages critical inquiry into the ethical, cultural, and societal dimensions of AI-assisted problem solving. By integrating data-driven and qualitative analysis with reflective and collaborative learning, students will gain the ability to apply AI thoughtfully and responsibly in addressing multifaceted real-world problems.
