Course Description
This course will investigate gender through the lens of modern media and entertainment. It will teach students how theoretical positions on gender and women's studies can be applied to modern social movements in the realm of technological innovation. Additionally, the course will engage in theory-crafting, addressing gaps in modern research. Technology and entertainment move at a pace far faster than social science can sometimes manage, therefore, the course will investigate case studies and invite students to offer their own perspectives couched in the current theoretical landscape.
