Tips to Sucessfully Complete Your Requirements

Start early: Requirements can be completed between Summer B and Spring. Starting early will ensure that you have ample time to complete your requirements, but also that you have more choice when it comes to selecting activities and service opportunities that align with your goals and interests.

Reflect on what you are already doing: Many of our students are already completing activities like jobs, internships, research, leadership positions and more. As you think about your responsibilities, ask yourself the following questions: Is this activity connected to a category in the pathway? Is this activity listed in the pathway? Is this something I can be getting volunteer hours for?

Be on the lookout: We try to account for as much as possible in our engagement pathway, but sometimes you may also receive information about engagement and service opportunities from your college, from professors or other FIU email listservs. Most FIU activities can give you credit in the pathway, so make sure you contact our team to receive credit for your participation.
