Gabriel Lucchesi: International Honors Student Achieving Excellence in Tech

David MelendezSpotlight

Gabriel Lucchesi is an #FIUHonors international student from Brazil majoring in Computer Science.

In the two years he has been in the US, he’s accomplished remarkable achievements in his career. This Summer he’s working as a Software Engineering intern at NVIDIA – a dominant supplier in both hardware and software for AI solutions. With a 1.3% acceptance rate, the NVIDIA Ignite program will let him work with crucial infrastructure related to robotics in the company.

On top of that, Gabriel took part in the exclusive Google Tech Exchange program, preparing Computer Science students with significant software engineering skills to jump into the tech job market. He was selected to be a student speaker at their graduation ceremony in Atlanta to reflect on the class’ accomplishments during the semester.

He has also presented at URFIU and NCUR in Los Angeles on his research with explainable AI through our program for Advanced Research and Creativity in Honors (ARCH), ensuring these systems can be more reliable in the future.

At the heart of it all, Gabriel is very engaged with FIU’s largest technology club – INIT FIU, a community of students that embrace learning about technology and propel your career forward. He works as their Co-Director of Technology and as the leader of the Artificial Intelligence Guild and aims to continue to broaden the impact of INIT to even more students.

We commend Gabriel for all he has achieved and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
