The Honors College is proud to announce the launch of our new website.
Our goal with this new website is to provide our visitors with a simple way to access information about FIU’s Honors College. The new website is interactive and organized allowing visitors to easily find their way around. There are many small changes and many more impactful ones, all made with you in mind to enhance your experience.
We’ve added a Prospective Students tab on the menu to help guide those visitors who are interested in the Honors College find all of the information they need. This tab includes pages that provide detailed explanations of the benefits of being an Honors College student and vital guidance on how to apply. In addition, visitors will have the ability to get to know Honors College Hall, the residential hall of the Honors College and explore the experience that comes alone with living on campus.
Our Current Students tab now clearly guides students to all they need to know in order to fulfill their Honors requirements such as citizenship and community service, as well as creating their senior portfolio and ensuring they have met all requirements needed to graduate through Honors. We’ve made it this way so that our Honors students can access the tools needed all under one tab.
For a more user-friendly experience, we’ve also created a Research page that provides information on ARCH, the Undergraduate Research Hub and CURFIU. In doing this, we’ve made a simple yet practical page for those interested in Research with the Honors College, including the scholarship and funding opportunities available to those who are in need of funds for their research or creative project.
Our most exciting addition to the website is our revolutionary News Feed. The News Feed can be accessed through the About Honors tab or directly from the home page below the grid. We’ve carefully selected five categories to organize our posts for a user-friendly experience.
These categories: Deadlines, How To, Research, Spotlight, and Summa cum Laude is the most searched for content on the website. Thus, we’ve made it simple to access posts that relate to these categories for a clean and simple user experience.
The Deadlines category will contain posts that focus solely on approaching deadlines for anything and everything Honors related. Our How To category serves our students and guides them in understanding certain processes such as accessing course syllabi, registering for classes, and attaining all Honors College requirements. The Research category is for all things, well, research related. This includes information on ARCH and CURFIU, as well as any interesting projects and achievements related to research. The Spotlight category allows major accomplishments and worthy recognition to be shared on the website. This means any outstanding student, professor, or alumni will be mentioned on the website, as well as accomplishments earned by the Honors College. Finally, our Summa cum Laude category places all of our magazine issues in one easy to reach to spot to help create your experience on our website better.
