Honors College Engagement Requirements
The Honors College strives to build a sense of community where students get the experience of a small liberal arts college, but with all the resources of a major public university. Our events, workshops, and activities are all designed with the purpose of enriching your life and giving you an experience that transcends classroom learning. We hope that you will take advantage of all these opportunities to learn and grow.
As the FIU Community takes the proper precautions and begins to repopulate campus this Fall, the Honors College will be requiring students to complete 10 engagement points per semester (Fall and Spring). Students can get Engagement points by attending Honors Hours, club meetings, HEARTS events, participating in a student leadership position, listening to the Honors College podcast, and more!
We offer both virtual and in-person opportunities to help students reach the 10 point requirement. Failure to complete them will result in students losing priority registration privileges for the following semester.
Below is a breakdown of points for each Honors activity and a list of student leadership positions around campus that can fully cover your 10 point requirement per semester.
Students can track their points and see upcoming Honors Events at http://myhonors.fiu.edu or on our Instagram @FIUHonors.
