Course Description
This course will deal with the various forms of propaganda and misinformation in the U.S. and other countries. The course will study propaganda techniques in the present time and their historical evolution. The goal will be to develop a healthy skepticism in order to avoid the pitfalls in the age of misinformation.
Course objectives are to develop:
• the skills for critical thinking,
• a “healthy” skepticism without this skepticism leading to the stifling of creative and innovative thought
• the tools for information analysis and creation
• a historical perspective of our current state of knowledge.
