Course Description
This course will take an academic multidisciplinary approach to learning how to shop in an economic way. We will examine the basic elements of shopping history, the role that advertising and marketing play in social media as well as print, how to keep a minimalistic mind rather than becoming an over consumer, and finally the impact of internet, technology, and mobile apps and how to use them to your advantage.
This course structure provides a solid foundation to understand the multifaceted aspects of the economics of shopping, discussions on the dynamic nature of the subject, considering how technological advancements and societal changes shape the way we shop. We will delve into the comparison of Designer brands versus non designer brands, thrifting to save money, upcycling and the differences between online shopping and brick and mortar stores.
