Course Description
This seminar will survey masterpieces of the Western Canon. The aim is to read them carefully and to appreciate them as works of art and works of memory. Students will discuss the major themes in these works as they relate to the human condition, and to their place in the great conversation about beauty, goodness, and truth that has taken place along the history of the Canon in the West.
