Bio

Dr. Fang Shu is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Florida International University. As a Notable Global Learning Faculty member recognized by FIU Global, he teaches accounting and finance courses at the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and philanthropy courses at the Honors College. His research interests include economic impact, ESG, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility. Prior to teaching full-time in 2016, Dr. Shu had served as FIU's China Programs Manager for five years. His duties entailed oversight of all activities of the school's admissions and career development team in China, including the recruitment, enrollment, event planning, and eventual job-placement of Chinese students at FIU’s degree-granting campus in Miami. Dr. Shu has over 12 years’ experience in developing and leading higher education training programs. He has developed and led the Honors China Program, Hospitality in Japan Program, Faculty Training Program, and Student Immersion Program for various partnered universities. Throughout his career, Dr. Shu has served on a number of boards and committees, including the Asia Committee at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). He strives to use his expertise and resources to fix social issues and make the world a better place. In his free time, Dr. Shu enjoys playing musical instruments and weightlifting.
