What does it take to pull off a graduation ceremony in 2020? Last week, our faculty and staff came together to celebrate over 200 Honors College students with a truly special Honors graduation experience.

We held a “Graduation drive-thru” at Florida International University’s MMC campus. Assistant Honors Dean Pete Markowitz dressed for the occasion while he and the Honors staff gave students their Honors College regalia and certificates.

Students got their photos taken under the balloon arch and were able to see their favorite faculty and staff one last time before commencement.

Our students then received a special email invitation inviting them to our virtual ceremony, featuring a speech from Honors Dean Juan Carlos Espinosa congratulating the graduates on their incredible achievement, followed by powerpoint presentation of all the Honors graduates.

We want to thank all our faculty and staff who were apart of this special experience. We are proud to be the center of undergraduate academic excellence at FIU, as well as a department that is constantly thinking of new ways to innovate and to celebrate our students.

Congratulations to our Fall 2020 graduates! YOU DID IT!
