Biography
Erika Harlitz Kern is the Curriculum Coordinator and a Faculty Fellow of the Honors College. She has a PhD in Medieval History from the University of Gothenburg and an MA in European Urbanization from Stockholm University. She has been an affiliated scholar with Karlstad University, University of Bergen, University of Helsinki, and University of Miami. In addition to her academic publications, she has been published by The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, The Week, Mental Floss, Reactor, Ploughshares, Atlas Obscura, and Book Riot, among others. She is currently working on a textbook in Viking Age women's history for Routledge.
