What costs are associated with Study Abroad?
Program FeeCovers accommodations, entries, transportation, activities and sometimes meals during the program.
TuitionPays for the two classes that are part of each program. Remember, everyone pays in-state tuition rates for Study Abroad classes.
Education Abroad FeeThis fee is from the Office of Education Abroad which includes international medical and emergency insurance.

How to Pay
Pay in Installments Over Six Months
- Pay $500 deposit within one week of interview
- Pay Second Program Fee by December 1, 2025.
- Pay Third Program Fee by February 1, 2026.
- Pay $195 Office of Education Abroad Fee by March 1, 2026.
- Pay tuition costs and fees for IDH4007 and IDH4008, according to the FIU Academic Calendar.

- Request to pay in full during the interview
- Pay your Program Fee within one week of interview
- Pay $195 Office of Education Abroad Fee by March 1, 2026

Scholarships
You can find scholarship applications on FIU AcademicWorks. To be eligible for the following scholarships, you must be accepted and committed to an Honors Study Abroad program, have a financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office, fulfill annual Honors College engagement and service requirements, and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or international student on an F-1 visa. Each scholarship has its own criteria in addition to the ones listed here.
