Biography
Vladislav Lilić is Assistant Professor of History. His research focuses on law, empire, sovereignty, nationalism, and state formation in modern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean. His current book project, Empire of States, examines the making of modern sovereignty in nineteenth-century Ottoman Balkans. Vladislav has won several international fellowships and awards, including the Max Planck–ASLH Prize for European Legal History in a Global Perspective.
