Course Description
In this course, we’ll explore how social movements, especially those focused on environmental issues, have evolved alongside technology. Students will learn how to harness the power of digital media, storytelling, and strategic communication to drive real-world change. This course is designed to be interactive, creative, and grounded in both theory and practice. Together, we’ll examine how activists are using platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) to mobilize communities, challenge systems, and shape public discourse on environmental issues. Over the semester, students will build their own digital campaign, grounded in historical context and modern tools.
