Internship Courses
The Honors College offers two internship courses: IDH 3940 and IDH 3999.
IDH 3940
You may complete this three-credit course by participating in structured practical training or work experience approved by the Honors College.
International students must complete the Curricular Practical Training application process through International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS).
IDH 3999
If you’re completing an internship, you may enroll in this zero-credit course, which does not count toward your upper-division requirements. Approval depends on the evaluation of the internship site and your current performance as an FIU Honors student.
If your academic department does not offer an internship course for credit, apply to enroll in IDH 3940.
For international students, please be aware that IDH 3999 is zero credits and does not count as an internship course for your Curricular Practical Training application.

Micro-Internships
Students and recent graduates from any major can participate in micro-internships—short-term, paid professional projects that allow you to build and demonstrate your skills while exploring potential careers. These internships are facilitated by the Parker Dewey platform, connecting students and recent graduates with organizations that need support.
All projects pay a fixed rate, typically $300 for about 15 hours of work (around $20 per hour). Most micro-internships are remote and can take place at any time of year, with companies ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to emerging start-ups.
